Deciphering Reparative Processes in the Inflamed Dental Pulp

نویسندگان

چکیده

Research over several decades has increased our understanding of the nature reparative and regenerative processes in dental pulp, at both cellular molecular level. However, advances scientific knowledge have not translated into novel clinical treatment strategies for caries-induced pulpitis. This narrative review explores evidence regarding ability inflamed pulp tissue to heal how this may be used therapeutically. A literature search analysis covering basic, translational biology research was performed. The focuses on (1) defense capabilities during inflammation; (2) potential biomaterials harness functions pulp; (3) future perspectives opportunities conservative management pulp. Current pulpitis are limited by a combination unreliable diagnostic tools an outdated pulpal pathophysiological responses. approach leads often unnecessary removal entire Consequently, there is need better approaches focus minimally-invasive treatments utilizing biologically-based materials technologies.

Deciphering the Epigenetic Code in Embryonic and Dental Pulp Stem Cells

A close cooperation between chromatin states, transcriptional modulation, and epigenetic modifications is required for establishing appropriate regulatory circuits underlying self-renewal and differentiation of adult and embryonic stem cells. A growing body of research has established that the epigenome topology provides a structural framework for engaging genes in the non-random chromosomal in...

Archaea prevalence in inflamed pulp tissues

Archaea have been detected in several ecological niches of the human body such as the large intestine, skin, vagina as well as the oral cavity. At present, archaea are recognized as nonpathogenic microorganisms. However, some data indicate that they may be involved in the etiopathogenesis of several diseases, including intestinal diseases as well as oral diseases: periodontitis, peri-implantiti...

Induction of Reparative Dentin Formation on Exposed Dental Pulp by Dentin Phosphophoryn/Collagen Composite

The ultimate goal of vital pulp therapy is to regenerate rapidly dentin possessing an excellent quality using a biocompatible, bioactive agent. Dentin phosphophoryn (DPP), the most abundant noncollagenous polyanionic protein in dentin, cross-linked to atelocollagen fibrils was applied to direct pulp capping in rats. After 1, 2, and 3 weeks, the teeth applied were examined on the induction of re...

Contribution of the Collagen-Binding Proteins of Streptococcus mutans to Bacterial Colonization of Inflamed Dental Pulp

Streptococcus mutans is a major pathogen of dental caries. Collagen-binding proteins (CBPs) (approximately 120 kDa), termed Cnm and Cbm, are regarded as important cell surface antigens related to the adherence of S. mutans to collagenous tissue. Furthermore, CBP-positive S. mutans strains are associated with various systemic diseases involving bacteremia, such as infective endocarditis. Endodon...

Expression of parathyroid hormone-related protein in human inflamed dental pulp.

INTRODUCTION The aim of this study was to investigate the presence and the role of the parathyroid hormone-related protein (PTH-rP) in the inflamed pulp. MATERIALS AND METHODS Thirty-four pulp tissue specimens (24 inflamed and 10 normal pulps) from extracted third molars were studied. The presence of PTH-rP was observed by using immunohistochemistry. Negative controls were performed using non...
